Lawrence Fung
Born in the concrete jungles of Hong Kong, architectural lines, and fashion has always been a significant influence on Lawrence.
After obtaining his degree in Finance and Supply Chain Management at Arizona State University, Lawrence decided to pursue a career as an artist.
Discovering the art of breaking during his undergraduate years, he is known as “B-boy Mighty” in the urban dance community. He founded a local breaking crew called “Pocket Change” in 2015 to preserve the ever-changing culture of breaking and to pass on the knowledge of the dance.
Following dance, Lawrence picked up his new found passion for photography and filmmaking in early 2017. During the summer of 2017, he had the opportunity to work with Harper Bazaar Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine in Hong Kong where he tremendously improved on both shooting fashion portraits and making lifestyle videos. He also gained professional experience working in studios and on location, collaborating with MUAs, stylists, and hair stylists, professional models, as well as working with name brands such as Burberry, Prada, Christian Dior, etc.
The first dance film that he produced titled “Parallax” has been selected out of 41 entries to be shown at the 5th Annual Dance Short Festival on February 23rd, 2018 at the Sun Studio in Tempe, Arizona.
His second dance film titled “Uprooted” won the Audience Choice Award at the Moving 24FPS PHX event on December 10th, 2017 at Tempe, Arizona.
Now as a graduate art student, his works combine dance, photography, and videography in his newly launched business - Kraken Still & Film.
